Clarke Road Retreat was created for the moments that are difficult to arrange but important to make happen: family reunions, milestone birthdays, annual weekends with friends, multi-generational holidays and time away with colleagues.

The open-concept main kitchen, dining and living areas allow everyone to cook, eat and spend time together. A large kitchen island becomes a natural gathering place for morning coffee, group meal preparation and late-night conversations.

The house also provides several separate seating areas. Guests can watch a movie, read in a quieter room, play games around a table or enjoy some downtime without leaving the group entirely.

It is a house where 16 people can genuinely spend time together—and still find a little breathing room.

Two Kitchens Make Group Meals Easier

Preparing meals for a large group is much easier when you have two complete kitchens.

Each kitchen has a refrigerator, stove and dishwasher, giving your group additional space for food storage, meal preparation and cleanup. Use one kitchen for cooking and the other as a breakfast, beverage or snack station—or give different families and dietary groups their own preparation space.

The house includes cookware, dishes, utensils, microwaves, toasters and basket-style coffee makers. Two propane barbecues are also available for outdoor cooking.

Groups can prepare meals together, bring in catered food or arrange for a local chef to create a special dinner at the house.

During suitable winter weather, the pond may freeze sufficiently for skating; however, this is entirely weather-dependent and cannot be guaranteed.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome at Clarke Road Retreat with prior approval.

Prince Edward County offers several dog-friendly patios, walking areas and outdoor destinations. Sandbanks Provincial Park also has designated dog areas at portions of Outlet Beach and Lakeshore Beach.

Your Hosts

We are Sonia and Rich. We moved to Prince Edward County from Toronto in 2016 and created Clarke Road Retreat as a comfortable, welcoming place for people to gather.

We may occasionally be elsewhere on the larger property in a completely separate building, several hundred feet from the rental house. We respect our guests’ privacy while remaining available by text or email if assistance is needed.

Our friendly German Shorthaired Pointer, Marley, also lives on the property. We try to keep him from interrupting guests, although he may occasionally decide that he needs to say hello.
